Technology in Higher Education (THE) Conference

The second annual Technology in Higher Education (THE) conference will be held on February 27 - 28, 2012 at the Qatar National Convention Center in Doha, Qatar. THE conference 2012 will focus on identifying the shifts, the challenges, the promises and opportunities for educators and IT professionals, and the strategies to leverage mobile learning.

THE 2012 - Mobile Learning: Challenges and Opportunities
Mobile computing has created new potentials for delivering content, promoting student engagement, and introducing efficiencies to campus operations. Changes induced by the technology are characterized by the proliferation of mobile devices on the network, expectations of ubiquitous availability of learning resources anywhere and anytime, and nomadic work/study style. The models of teaching, learning and its support are under stress and we need to understand the challenges, and opportunities related to mobility. These are some of the questions that THE 2012 will address:

  • What are the impacts of mobile computing on the learning technology landscape?
  • What new roles will the IT departments need to take on?
  • How can educators leverage mobility to improve learning?
  • What benefits can research in higher education derive from the advancements in mobile computing?
